Graham SteffaniakandDevin 474cd90e74 Invalidate in-flight search as soon as the query changes
During the 250ms debounce window the sequence counter was not yet bumped,
so a response for the previous query could still pass the stale-response
guard and briefly repopulate results. abortSearch() now bumps the sequence
so any late response is ignored, and onInput() calls it before scheduling
the debounced search.

Graham SteffaniakandDevin a483504426 Fix the "no results" message after debouncing quick search
The debounce refactor moved the in-flight counter decrement into a
finally block, so the "no results" check ran while the request was still
counted as in flight and the message never appeared. Evaluate it after
the counter drops, and only for a request that actually completed.

Fixes the settings access.spec.ts search assertion.

Graham SteffaniakandDevin 36dba16fd6 Make the FTS5 search index opt-in via indexSqlConfig.fts5
FTS5 speeds up substring searches but costs roughly 40% more indexing
time and 15% more index file size, so it now defaults to off.

- Add indexSqlConfig.fts5 (default false). When off, search uses the
  existing unindexed query and no FTS table or triggers are created.
- When enabled, the index is built from existing rows on startup (no
  rescan); disabling it drops the table and triggers.
- Regenerate config.yaml and swagger docs.

Graham SteffaniakandDevin 5f3049ebc6 Debounce quick search and add an FTS5 trigram index
Quick search sent a request on every keystroke and each one ran an
unindexed lower(name) GLOB scan, so searches piled up and the last one
finished last. This:

- debounces the search input by 250ms, aborts the superseded request, and
  ignores late responses so the UI cannot show stale results;
- passes the request context into the query (15s timeout) so an abandoned
  search is interrupted instead of holding the index DB connection;
- removes the session-cancellation map, which could not interrupt the scan;
- adds one global FTS5 trigram index over (name, source:path) so substring
  searches use an index. It is derived data: a schema or health mismatch
  deletes and rebuilds the index DB, and it falls back to the old query
  when FTS5 is unavailable.

Also fixes GLOB escaping: SQLite GLOB has no backslash escape, so literal
* ? [ in a search term and in the scope prefix now use bracket classes.

manu 59bfdbcb54 fix: allow printing with view permission, as OnlyOffice does
The OnlyOffice integration lets a user print with View alone; the WOPI

Download.

Object.hasOwn instead of `in`, which also matched inherited properties:
a file named report.constructor would have been routed to the editor.

rejected, a file replaced in place is reported as changed in storage.

manu b3cbd0925e refactor: configure Collabora through integrations.office
Review follow-up on #3108.

- There is no integrations.wopi block any more: integrations.office gains
  product (onlyoffice, the default, or collabora) and tokenExpirationHours.
  secret stays required for OnlyOffice and becomes optional for Collabora.
  Existing OnlyOffice configs are unchanged. With product collabora, the
  OnlyOffice-specific paths (document keys, previews via /converter, CSP
  script origins, onlyOfficeUrl) stand down.
- The SPA receives officeProduct and officeExtensions instead of the wopi*
  globals. WOPI stays the name of the protocol code and routes.
- Discovery is refreshed in the background until shutdown: every 30s while
  it has never loaded (the editor often starts after FileBrowser), then every
  10 minutes. Before, a failed first fetch left Collabora disabled until
  restart.
- WopiEditor shows its close button when the session request fails, instead
  of leaving the user on a blank view.
- Fix the router import broken by the upstream switch to a named export.
2026-10-10 04:21:20 +02:00
manu 9753cfbf8b feat: edit office files in Collabora Online through WOPI
FileBrowser gains a WOPI host, so office documents can open in Collabora
Online (or any WOPI editor, OnlyOffice Docs included) next to the existing
OnlyOffice integration. Refs #641.

- integrations.wopi: url, internalUrl, secret, product, tokenExpirationHours,
  viewOnly. Discovery is fetched from the editor and cached; extensions it
  declares open in the editor, except formats FileBrowser already views
  itself (images, plain text).
- GET /api/wopi/session returns the editor URL and a signed access token
  bound to one file, one user and a mode. The token has its own audience and
  a key derived from the auth key (or integrations.wopi.secret), so it never
  doubles as a session token.
- /wopi/files/{id}[/contents]: CheckFileInfo, GetFile, PutFile and the lock
  operations. Permissions are re-checked on every call, so revoking access
  takes effect mid-session. PutFile receives the whole body before writing,
  and answers Collabora's COOLStatusCode 1010 when the file changed in
  storage since it was loaded, letting the user overwrite or reload.
- access_token is redacted from request logs.
- WopiEditor.vue form-posts the token into an iframe and handles UI_Close.
  Public shares keep using OnlyOffice for now.

## Prerequisites
- **Go 1.25+** (see `backend/go.mod`)
- **Node.js 18.0.0+** with npm 7.0.0+ (see `frontend/package.json`)
- **Node.js 22.0.0+** with npm 9.0.0+ (see `frontend/package.json`)
- **Docker** (optional, for containerized development)
- **Git**
- **Git** especially important on Windows -- needed for bash support.
### Optional Tools
- **ffmpeg**: For media features (subtitles, thumbnails, heic)
- **ffmpeg/ffprobe**: For media features (subtitles, thumbnails, heic)
- Ubuntu/Debian: `sudo apt-get install ffmpeg`
- macOS: `brew install ffmpeg`
- Windows: Download from [ffmpeg.org](https://ffmpeg.org/download.html)
- **mupdf-tools**: For PDF preview generation
- Ubuntu/Debian: `sudo apt-get install mupdf-tools`
- macOS: `brew install mupdf-tools`
- Windows: Download from [mupdf.com](https://mupdf.com/downloads/)
Document thumbnails (PDF, EPUB, Office Open XML, and similar) are generated in-process via [folio](https://github.com/gen2brain/folio). An optional office integration is used as a fallback for formats folio does not handle and for in-browser editing.

## Roadmap
Check the [Project Roadmap](https://github.com/users/gtsteffaniak/projects/4/views/2) to see issues sorted by priority. This helps you understand what features are planned and where you can contribute most effectively.
## Troubleshooting
### Common Issues
**Build failures:**
```bash
# Frontend
cd frontend && rm -rf node_modules && npm install
# Backend
cd backend && go mod tidy && go clean -modcache
```
**Authentication Issues:**
Always first enable debug logging in your config file if you have issues.
1. **OIDC Login Fails:**
- Check redirect URLs match your config
- Verify OIDC provider settings
- Enable debug logs to see auth flow
- Common issue: mismatched callback URLs
2. **Proxy Auth Not Working:**
- Verify header names match config
- Check nginx/reverse proxy passes headers
- Test with: `curl -H "X-Auth: username" localhost:8080`
- Enable `--log-level debug` to see headers
3. **TOTP Issues:**
- Ensure server time is synchronized
- Check QR code generation in logs
- Test with authenticator app time settings
- Database might have stale TOTP secrets
4. **Session/Cookie Problems:**
- Clear browser cookies and localStorage
- Verify cookie domain settings
- Try incognito/private browsing mode

## About
FileBrowser Quantum provides an easy way to access and manage your files from the web. It has a modern responsive interface that has many advanced features to manage users, access, sharing, and file preview and editing.
This version is called "Quantum" because it packs tons of advanced features into a tiny easy to run file. Unlike the majority of alternative options, FileBrowser Quantum is simple to install and easy to configure.

4. ✅ Streamlined configuration via `config.yaml` config file.
5. ✅ Efficient search
- Real-time search results as you type.
- Real-time monitoring and updates in the UI.
- Search supports file and folder sizes, along with various filters.
6. ✅ Better listing browsing
- More file type previews, such as **office** and **video** file previews
- Instantly switches view modes and sort order without reloading data.
- Folder sizes are displayed.
- Thumbnails support includes **office**, **video**, and **album artwork**, and **3D models**.
- Faster and more responsive views with animations.
- **Folder sizes** are displayed and support thumbnails
- Navigating remembers the last scroll position.
7. ✅ Highly configurable and customizable sharing options, incuding:
- WebDAV support
- Granular permissions
7. ✅ Highly configurable and [customizable sharing options](https://filebrowserquantum.com/en/docs/shares/options/)
- share expiration time
- users who can access share (including anonymous)
- styling and themes
- file viewing, editing, and uploading permissions
8. ✅ Directory-level access control that can be scoped to user or group.
8. ✅ Developer API support
8. ✅ Access control that can be scoped to user or group and source path.
9. ✅ Developer API support
- Ability to create long-lived API Tokens.
- A helpful Swagger page is available at `/swagger` endpoint for API enabled users.
Notable features that this fork *does not* have (removed):
- :construction: jobs are not supported yet.
- ❌ shell commands are completely removed and will not be returned.
FileBrowser Quantum differs significantly from the original version. Many of these changes required a significant overhaul. Creating a fork was a necessary process to make the program better. There have been many growing pains, but a stable release is planned and coming soon.
## System Requirements
> [!WARNING]
> Every file and directory in the source gets indexed (by default). This enables powerful features such as instant search, but large source filesystems can increase your system requirements. [See indexing wiki](https://github.com/gtsteffaniak/filebrowser/wiki/Indexing) for more info.
- **Memory**: depends on configured source complexity. See [how much RAM does it require?](https://github.com/gtsteffaniak/filebrowser/discussions/787)
- **GPU**: Not currently used (planned)
## The UI
The UI has a simple three-component navigation system:
1. (Left) Multi-action button with slide-out panel.
2. (Middle) The powerful search bar.
3. (Right) The view change toggle.
2. (Middle) The powerful search bar / title
3. (Right) The view change toggle / overflow menu
All other functions are moved either into the action menu or pop-up menus.
If the action does not depend on context, it will exist in the slide-out
action panel. If the action is available based on context, it will show up as
a pop-up menu.
