Changelog
All notable changes to TheHerobrine-OG are documented here.
1.6.3 - 2026-09-14
Changes
- The lobby sidebar now follows the Scoreboard-OG network board's look: a
♥ TheHerobrine-OG ♥title, one blank line between labelled blocks and the configurednetworkWebfooter. The queue card shows the lobby player count, the countdown or the players still needed, and the viewer's points, shard captures, kills and deaths; the round card shows the viewer's role, the map, shards captured out of three, the shard's status (seconds to the next spawn, time left on the ground, or its carrier) and the survivors alive. Every line stays within 16 legacy characters so 1.8 clients on ViaBackwards see it uncut.
1.6.2 - 2026-09-12
Changes
- Claim
/hub,/lobbyand/spawninside lobby worlds before any other plugin sees them, the way/votealready is. Splegg-OG and BuildBattle-OG register/hubas well, and Bukkit hands the bare label to whichever plugin loads first, so a Herobrine player's/hubcould run another minigame's command; Spawn-OG's/spawnteleported them out through its own warmup./lobbyis now an alias of/hubeverywhere.
1.6.1 - 2026-09-12
Changes
- Render the lobby sidebar through Scoreboard-OG's sidebar API when Scoreboard-OG
1.2.0or newer is installed. The network board returns by itself when the player leaves, and/togglescoreboardis honoured. Older Scoreboard-OG builds or no Scoreboard-OG at all fall back to the bundled ScoreboardLib board. - Bundle the MariaDB driver the plugin actually loads and relocate every shaded
dependency. The jar used to ship MySQL Connector/J while asking for
org.mariadb.jdbc.Driver, so it only started on servers where another plugin happened to expose that class. - Move every database and Redis round trip off the main thread: stat reads on join, the end-of-round push, kit lookups and kit saves. Chat and scoreboards show zeroes for the instant before a read lands.
- Run every game timer on the main thread. The countdown, narration, capture sequence, intro titles and the healing, wisdom, protective spirit, harming totem, bat bomb and blinding abilities were asynchronous and touched entities and player lists off-thread.
- Apply game state changes immediately instead of a tick later, and refuse a
second
start()orend()for the same round. Two players entering the hub in one tick could start two countdowns. - Own only this lobby's worlds:
HB1no longer claimsHB10-hub. - Remove
votefrom plugin.yml. The preprocess listener still claims/voteand/vinside lobby worlds, and VotingPlugin keeps both labels everywhere else. - Fix the Wizard kit permission node to
theherobrine.kit.classic.wizard, as documented. Servers that granted the oldwizzardspelling need to re-grant it. - Declare
theherobrine.overfillin plugin.yml, stop holding arena and hub spawn chunks in memory, cap the spawn-search chunk loads at 27 per map, open the spectator menu on left-clicking a block too, and stop a string ending in&from throwing in the colour parser.
1.6.0 - 2026-08-24
Changes
- Register per-player MiniPlaceholders through Utilities-OG:
<hb_score>(total points),<hb_rank>(the Hive rank for that score, Death Bringer included for the top player) and<hb_class>(the&4THE HEROBRINEchat prefix while the player is the Herobrine of a live round, empty otherwise). - Keep those values current the moment they change: lobby stat checks, in-round point awards and the end-of-round database push all write through a plugin-wide score cache, which is seeded from the database on login and reads the top player again after every push.
- Declare
Utilities-OGas a hard dependency; the plugin already needed it at runtime for message formatting. - Gate Death Bringer on the top player also holding Divine (300,000 points)
instead of the
showDeathBringerAtconfig value, which is removed. The top player keeps climbing the regular ladder until then.
1.5.9 - 2026-07-31
Changes
- Keep a lobby alive across games: the post-game rebuild reused the default hub template instead of the one the lobby was created with, so the lobby failed to come back and no lobbies were left to join.
- Recreate lobbies with their own hub template when reloading configs too, and report on the console when a rebuild fails.
- Record manual lobby creations only in
lobbies/active-lobbies.yaml; the extraautoStartAmountincrement spawned a second lobby from a template that does not exist. - Remove the persisted entry when a lobby is deleted so it stays deleted after a restart.
- Add a
hubkey to lobby configs naming the hub template auto-started lobbies copy, defaulting tohub. - Accept a hub template by number:
/hbcreatelobby 1resolves toHB1_Hub, hub names now match regardless of case, and the command tab-completes templates and rejects an unknown one instead of failing lobby creation. - List the templates that do exist when a hub template cannot be found.
- Load lobby worlds a tick after startup rather than during it, so world creation no longer fires chunk events at plugins that are still starting.
- Delete lobby worlds left behind by a previous run before starting lobbies, so a crashed server no longer leaves arena world folders piling up on disk.
1.5.8 - 2026-07-29
Changes
- Repair Herobrine's visible-phase combat and phase-three loadout:
- Equip and select the phase-three sword in hotbar slot 0 and place poison vials in slot 1.
- Give Herobrine one normal golden apple in hotbar slot 2.
- Stop clearing valid KnockbackSync knockback one tick after visible-phase hits while retaining knockback immunity during the invisible phases.
- Preserve arrows as projectile hits with their direction and enchantment behavior instead of converting them to synthetic melee hits.
- Apply game damage only after OldCombatMechanics has accepted a hit, and run hit effects only for non-cancelled damage.
- Declare KnockbackSync-OG as a soft dependency so combat listeners are ordered consistently when it is installed.
- Identify the active Herobrine in chat with a dedicated red role prefix and bold message text.
- Bundle the canonical
joinsigns.yamlregistry and install it on first startup. - Correct the bundled default lobby's voting-map count.
