The content blocker at v5.1 against the inspector's 21 findings (round 26 in impl-review-findings-6.md, every one dispositioned): exceptions with options honoured first, typed rules per host, path rules with party and case folding, the type map, selector validation, a redirect check, lazy page host, the master switch gating hiding, atomic writes, the updater's flags, back-off and truncation check, logging the matched rule (off by default), site hiding rules per document, a heap-minimize after the lists install; prefs against prefetch and speculative connections; the bundle greps the hashes in NOTICE and the README; REQUIRED and the ipk check carry the lists, the component and the GPL text; the Settings rows' fixes; the test pages over http; count-blocklist vectors; the JS benchmark page. Round 2 (T-491): tools/device/browse-round.sh + sites + analyse.py; thirty visits logged (docs/rounds/); the reading in docs/MODERN-WEB.md: every page stalls the main thread 9–43 s with 0.3–1.5 fps while loading; ten never reached load-done; the JIT question and the guard's trade-off are first. The session ended at its usage limit: PICKUP's top says exactly where, with the v5.1 packages built and not yet pushed. Nothing in either file has been changed. build/webos-oe/make-device-bundle.sh refuses to bundle
a file whose SHA-256 is not the one above, so a different snapshot cannot ship under this notice
by accident. To move to a newer snapshot: replace the files, update the versions, dates and hashes
here and in make-device-bundle.sh, and the lines in NOTICE.
How they are used
Every Jihad Browser package carries both files raw in the engine's blocklists/ directory. The
content blocker compiles them on the device, in JavaScript, into what it blocks with — host rules,
third-party-only and typed host rules, path-prefix rules, the exceptions (plain and optioned),
the generichide sites — the generic element-hiding stylesheet and the per-site hiding rules, and
caches the compiled form in the profile. The compiled form is a derivative of the lists and is covered by the
same licence. The blocker refreshes both lists from easylist.to no more often than every four
days (the lists' own ! Expires); the bundled snapshot is the fallback when a download fails.
The lists are data the engine reads, not code linked into it: the GPL covers the list files and
what is derived from them, not the browser (Apache-2.0 and MPL-2.0 code, see LICENSE).
